I love tea, and I love a big squishy sofa, and I love a good book.
You all know how I love tea, and how I go in and out of phases with flavours and ingredients. Lately I’ve found myself craving ginger tea and its flavour in general. So I am being soothed by a new tea from Brew Tea Co, ‘Lemon and Ginger’ which was delivered in exciting and pretty packaging.
My priority buy when I moved to my nest in North Yorkshire was a big sofa where I could curl up with a good book, and day dream while looking out onto my garden whatever the weather.
Life gets busier and we concentrate more of our time on flicking through snippet sized bits of info on our phones. All this is not good for our poor little brains!
That’s why I love the Book Club at my local pub QOTT. This month we are reading Girl at War by Sara Novic –
Growing up in Zagreb in the summer of 1991, 10-year-old Ana Juric is a carefree tomboy; she runs the streets with her best friend, Luka, helps take care of her baby sister, Rahela, and idolizes her father. But when civil war breaks out across Yugoslavia, soccer games and school lessons are supplanted by sniper fire and air raid drills. The brutal ethnic cleansing of Croats and Bosnians tragically changes Ana’s life, and she is lost to a world of genocide and child soldiers; a daring escape plan to America becomes her only chance for survival……..
Until next time………….
